Learn the Art of Budgeting
We read in 3 John 2 that the apostle wished “above all things that we would prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospered.” How will you know if you are prospering or not? You need information for that. You need records.
If someone said they were going to run a business without keeping an financial records you would think they were crazy. But most Americans run their family firm that way. They have no real idea beyond the bills that come of what they have, what they owe, and where their money is going. Record keeping and a proper budget are essential if you will be able to follow the principles of Christian finance we are discussing in this series. Christ tells us in Luke 14:28 “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?.”
