The word in the chorus really grabbed me in this song “the hope of the world, lifted on high, calling us home with arms out wide.
Jeremiah 31:3 says “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:
therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” As we behold the love of God demonstrated for us in Jesus hanging upon the cross we are witnessing the greatest display of love that our finite minds can grasp, Jesus becoming the ultimate sacrifice for all our sin and evil, taking our penalty of sin which was death upon Himself.
Jesus prophesied His death when He said in John 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me” and this is the very place where the hope of the world was lifted on high, calling you home with arms out wide. God bless you.
