In a world filled with depression and people who are slaves to their habits and addictions there often seems like there’s no answer, no hope for peace or freedom. I wrote this piece to share with you the greatest love story I’ve ever heard and its impact on my life. I grew up in a church environment where for me religion became a set of rules and regulations. It was here in my youth I became enslaved to doubts and habits that led me on a journey with no purpose. The God I had heard of, I ran away from, as I was never shown the love and great sacrifice He’d given for me. As I lost sight of Him and continued in my own ways, I was left with no peace in my heart and even more doubts. It wasn’t until I opened His Word that I found the answers to my questions and problems, the very reason why I live. In His Word I found a Friend who had always been there throughout my ups and downs. Today, even though in the past I’ve made many mistakes, I can rest in the assurance that my Friend has paid the price for all my sins and failures. What has brought me to love Him most is knowing that He loved me so much to the point where he would give up his life, his freedom in heaven to be beaten and killed in the most humiliating of ways just for me….and before I could even love him back! Getting to know my Saviour, Jesus, has been the most fulfilling experience ever. It is this relationship that has brought freedom in my life….freedom from doubts…..freedom from habits and addictions….freedom to love and forgive others! You too can find freedom to your problems and addictions today! All you have to ask Him and He’ll give you the victory too!!! – Jared Chapman
