Ten Virgins: what is the difference and why were five left outside the door? [S02E35]

In Matthew 25, Jesus compares Christians living right before the end of the world to ten virgins, 5 were wise and 5 were foolish. All of these virgins had a BIG problem. Do you know what it was?! What were they all doing? They were sleeping!
